What can we know about the days of Noah outside of the business-as-usual attitude that will be predominant at the time before God’s final judgment and the rapture of the church? Here is what Genesis 6 tells us:

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. —GENESIS 6:5

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” —GENESIS 6:11-13

I need not try to convince anyone that we live in a violent world, or that man’s heart is filled with the constant pursuit of evil. The word “corrupt” in Genesis 6:12, however, will help us see that we are indeed living in times that are like those of Noah. The word means “moral perversion.” It is the word we would use to describe meat or fruit that was rotten or spoiled. In the days before the flood, mankind had few or no moral values, for they had essentially rotted away. At the time of this writing, there are efforts around the world, in many first-world countries, to indoctrinate elementary school-aged children with the belief that transgenderism and homosexuality are as natural and acceptable in society as heterosexuality. There is even a movement to normalize pedophilia as a natural sexual attraction and preference. Children are being force-fed the idea that rather than following the scientific facts that gender is biologically and genetically determined, gender is actually a choice. The latest fad among liberal, progressive parents is “gender neutral” child-rearing, and letting their child choose their gender when ready.

We live in a time when people are told their feelings can define their gender, and prepubescent children are having their little bodies altered surgically because they told their deluded parents they “feel” like the opposite gender than they are. There have always been tomboys and effeminate boys, but neither of those tendencies have ever indicated that their chromosomal arrangement was wrong. Yet today, the “trust the science” crowd doesn’t trust the science, and they place feelings above facts even when it comes to undeniable biological and physiological realities. To give prepubescent children puberty blockers or to surgically alter their bodies shows how far astray mankind has gone from God’s original design of creating male and female in Genesis 1:27. What we see happening today is part of the thoughts and intents of man’s heart being evil continually, as it was in the days of Noah.

On another front, multiple state legislatures are repealing parental notification rights and allowing for girls to be taken off campus to have an abortion without their parents’ knowledge. Many other states are expanding abortion rights up to the moment of birth, and some are even promoting post-birth abortions that deny any medical aid to an abortion-surviving baby. States are repealing laws that criminalize physical assaults that cause the death of an unborn child. My home state of California is even offering to help underage girls cross state lines, without the knowledge of their parents, to have an abortion if their home state does not allow it after Roe v. Wade was repealed. This, by the way, is normally a felony, yet because the issue is abortion, officials approve of the change and look the other way.

This tells us that man has become morally corrupt to the degree that most have lost any sort of moral compass, and objective realities are treated as subjective interpretations. We live in a day when it is as it was at the time of Noah and evil intentions fill the minds of humanity.
